Job Description:
Gather breaking news for news shows
Conduct interviews; Set up live shots at crime scenes, events, or weather live shots Edit stories using either linear or non-linear equipment Edit VO/SOT’s and packages assigned by news desk or producers Drive news truck and live truck Operate live truck, set up microwave signal, run cables, set up lights and monitors, dial IFB, and set up audio and video Monitor audio and be able to troubleshoot problems with equipment in the field Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned

Experience Required:
Two years experience related to electronic news gathering required and ability to demonstrate a creative visual style of photography

Must have knowledge of live remote trucks and ability to meet daily deadlines Must deal with pressure situations, demonstrate good news judgment, and maintain a good attitude Knowledge of DVC-Pro & Betacam equipment Knowledge of and ability to utilize tapeless video camcorders, Grass Valley Infinity cameras and editing equipment, Panasonic DVC Pro laptop editors, and electronics wireless microphones Ability to understand sequencing video, gathering natural sound and take moving pictures with the rule of thirds in mind Possess a valid Nevada driver’s license or able to obtain one within 30 days of employment and have a clean driving record Ability to carry heavy equipment in excess of 50 pounds, including camera, batteries, a light kit, a tripod, microphones, headphones to monitor audio, and tapes Represent KVBC in a professional manner
