Job Title: Chief Engineer

Start Date: 6/1/2010

General Responsibilities
• Installs and performs maintenance on audio consoles, recording equipment, microphones, digital audio systems, high power AM and FM broadcast transmitters, remote equipment, etc.
• Performs necessary measurements of equipment performance
• Overall responsibility over Local Area Network and IT Manager
• Fueling and maintenance of multiple generator sets to include a fuel recirculation / cleaning system.
• Administer safety plan and train employees to meet or exceed OSHA safety standards.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Knowledge of all applicable FCC rules and regulations
• Technical knowledge of electronics and electro mechanics
• Experience maintaining a high power AM directional antenna array.
• Familiar with broadcast studio operations and equipment including PR&E consoles, SAS audio router, Telos and Comrex remote equipment and Omnia audio processing as well as knowledge of Scott Studios automation software.
• Knowledge of basic telephone systems and protocols including POTS, ISDN, T1, DSL and PRI circuits
• Working knowledge of HVAC systems.
• Working knowledge of the NEC (National Electrical Code)
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Problem-solving ability and skill in prioritizing
• Ability to interact with management and staff at all levels
• Ability to multi-task and handle pressures and deadlines

Education and Licensing Requirements
• Associates or technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Broadcasting Technology or related field, or equivalent level of experience
• SBE certification
• Must possess valid state drivers license.

Physical Requirements
• May require lifting or moving up to 75 pounds
• Ability to work at elevations of up to 10,000 feet above sea level
• Ability to drive a snowmobile or snow cat for winter access to transmitter sites.
• May require climbing ladders and working on elevated surfaces
• Requires good manual dexterity for soldering, use of hand tools, and working on small components
